The Khanenko Museum Brand Identity


The Khanenko Museum (ukr. Музей Ханенків) began with the efforts of Kyiv patrons Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko. They were fond of collecting and brought samples of fine art from their travels. This is not just a museum, but the house where they lived. The museum consists of two diametrically opposed expositions — European and Asian. This is a place where two eras are combined  — "a modern museum of classical art."

​​​​​​​Bohdan and Varvara. West and East. Past and present. And all this lives harmoniously under one roof. It is a museum of duality. Having this in mind, we formed our main message: the Khanenko Museum is a museum that unites.




The museum has a small, almost imperceptible door connecting the western and eastern parts. A kind of portal through which you can travel between two worlds. It inspired the main visual trick of our identity.




The frame is multifunctional. It symbolizes the union of two dimensions. A small portal becomes a focal point that highlights an interesting, important or inconspicuous detail of the exhibit. From the point of view of identity, the frame is universal. It adapts to literally any medium.
